TEL HI Celebrates 135 Years of Community Impact at Its Kick Off Event

It was fantastic evening at TEL HI’s 135-Year Kick Off Celebration on Wednesday, September 18, 2024!
With around 200 attendees – including families, board members, past board members, supporters, senior program participants, and community members – the event was a celebration of TEL HI’s incredible milestone. There were local community leaders in attendance, showing their support for TEL HI’s long-standing commitment to San Francisco.
The event was emceed by Dion Lim, Emmy Award-winning TV news anchor and reporter at ABC7 News, who kept the energy high throughout the evening. One of the highlights of the night was when District 3 Supervisor Aaron Peskin presented a proclamation to Nestor Fernandez, TEL HI’s CEO/Executive Director, recognizing TEL HI’s contributions to the City.
Another exciting moment was the unveiling of the new public art installation on TEL HI’s gym wall, designed by Buchanan Brand + Design. The beautiful piece, inspired by the community and the city TEL HI serves, is a tribute to the vibrant history of TEL HI. The installation showcases TEL HI’s programs and services throughout San Francisco, celebrating the deep connection and impact on the neighborhoods TEL HI supports.
This event marks the beginning of a year of celebration for TEL HI, with other activities scheduled to honor the milestone year.
